What I want to do after graduation

In only a couple of weeks, I’ll have the opportunity to complete a 3-week stage to put the skills I’ve developed over the past 3 years into practice before graduation. I’m still in the process of looking for stage opportunities but I’m confident that I’ll find one that will suit me well. It’ll allow me to bring my skills to the next level and gain some real-life experience that will show me what the work field is like. Hopefully, I’ll be able to bring my branding and even social media marketing skills to the next level as it is what I’d like to continue in next year at university.

Being able to see a project come to life is what makes me the proudest. It allows me to see the real impact I can have, and it touches me deeply. Whether it’s physical projects or even online, knowing that people like my designs and that they match their initial vision, I can simply feel accomplished. I’ll go through as many revisions as needed as long as the clients are happy with the result.

After that stage, I hope to be able to keep a foot in the industry with a part-time job during the summer. If the stage goes well and it ends up giving me this opportunity, this would be wonderful. Afterwards, I’ll be going to university for the winter semester most likely in marketing at either Concordia or UQAM. It would be a great addition to my design skills and they both go hand in hand. Since I’m a well-organized person, managing school as well as a part-time job should be too hard to accomplish. It’ll simply allow me to open more doors and network while still gaining more skills that will help me in my future career.

I’m excited about what’s coming next and I have a good feeling that everything will go well. Many opportunities will come my way and will bring me joy.

About my Career Plan

In a couple of years from now, I’d like to have experience in one or two businesses and to finally be working as a senior designer or marketer in an advertising or marketing agency. Doing this while continuing to learn new things daily since there are always new things to learn in life.

On top of that, I’d like to do some graphic designs on the side with clients of my own and help out with the visuals of the different events they might have. I’d enjoy doing the visuals for the different things needed at weddings such as invitation cards, name tags and menus. Assisting over 50 weddings, I’ve seen a lot of different things being made. Things that work and things that don’t which, according to me, will allow me to create the best visuals in the most efficient way possible.

I would also like to expand my services to photography as well so that if they need a brochure for their new collection but do not have any pictures of their products yet, I could take them as well. It would allow me to practice some different photography techniques I’ve learned in some of the photography classes I’ve taken in the past. It could be beneficial for me and the clients as there would be fewer people to contact and work with for the clients.

I simply want to be able to use my creativity as much as possible and also use it to express myself. Being discovered by different kinds of people and having the opportunity to work on different kinds of projects. By then, I’d like to increase my skills as a web designer to be able to offer even more to clients and evolve with the different technologies that come up in the world.

Vernissage

On March 10th, 2024, our vernissage will occur to which I would like to invite all of you. It will take place in the agora at John Abbott College in Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue from 5 pm to 7 pm. It will be an opportunity for all the graduate students to showcase some of their work and share it with everyone present for the occasion.

As well as seeing the work done, I’ll be able to explain the thought process behind each piece and how it all came to life. Going from an idea to a final product includes a whole process that people normally don’t think about. It’s something that takes time and multiple revisions to perfect for it to be ready to be delivered and shown to the public.

In the past 3 years, I have evolved a lot and so has my work. We can see the evolution by looking at the different projects I’ve made over time. In the beginning, it used to be extremely simple and quite messy. Now, they are clearer and leave some space for the user or customer to breathe and not be overwhelmed. I also found my style which tends to be simple, delicate and with some deep tones of colors that have a meaning attached to it. Though, I don’t restrict myself to this style. I like exploring different styles and experimenting with different things. I’m always down for a good challenge.

I’m someone who is dedicated to what she’s doing and hardworking. I will always find a way to figure out what I want to do no matter how many corrections it takes to make sure it meets the expectations and more. I will find a way to achieve it and will deliver it on time. I like what I’m doing and wish to continue it as long as possible.

Don’t miss out on our vernissage!
